Adam & Eve becoming pregnant was the original mortal sin; forcing Adam & Eve to leave paradise of the family home and create their own homestead. It was also, one of the first stories of the birds & the bees. The Creation of Life,, The Universal Sin of all life: The expanding population of a species until an outer force (death) stops the growth of that species. Usually this is done by a creature able to consume that species for food. Mankind has been able to defeat the population controlling elements of Nature, (bacteria, virus, and climate). When the population increases so much that the resources can not sustain the life of that species. The species will die along with any other species dependent on those resources.
Birth has been describe in religious text as a process similar to that of plant growing from a seed on fertile ground. Some of the seeds fall to sand or amongst rock when they dry up and wither away, others begin to grow and are choked by the vines of other plants for survival. Then there are the seeds which grow on fertile land with room to grow. These grow to produce beautiful fruit and nourish the surrounding ecosystem; as a productive part of nature.
Over-population causes the fertile land to be filled with vines choking, struggling for survival.
Like man can control weather patterns, so can man control population growth through a non-lethal birth control method. To have no birth control as the Catholic church demands of faith is the lethal birth non-control of overpopulation.
